Hi All,
If you want to be up to date on what this is about, please go to the below link where I explain mostly everything.
It has been a week again since my last upload, but I had a ton of work done during that time, as you can see : )
There it is, my work in progress for a lifesize fully articulated Impmon Figure.
Believe
it or not, this was the easy part, adjusting an Impmon 3D model,
exporting and unfolding it in Pepakura and connecting all the pieces
that was a total of 47 pages of A4 paper.
Next
will be making the skeleton inside the model so that all the individual
parts can move independently like with a plastic action figure model (
like the amplified Digimon model kits for example )
His
bandana and gloves will be made out of red felt, and the paper model
will be painted and then sprayed with a sealant to protect it so that it
can be as durable as possible.
However
one thing I noticed, while the size is accurate with the references for
Impmon as he was in Tamers, the model is fully accurate to that of the
Toei references as well ( around 85 - 90 cm give or take ) his head
however is freakishly huge in real life ( I know that he has a big ego,
but not that much ... then again )
Reason
why his head is so big is simple, it's the Digimon artstyle, because
the Tamers heads would look just as ridiculously big if one would make a
life size 3D model out of them, and that does not translate well to
real life ( reason why I always hated the artstyle used in Savers since
it's exactly the same problem, the humans looked more accurate to real
life proportions while the Digimon kept mostly the same proportions as
from the other seasons, and it just looked wrong in my opinion )
While
the proportions of the rest of his body looks alright, I might just
shrink the head a bit so that it's more equal to that of an adult head,
it will look better that way I think, I might also make his neck a bit
longer as well, and maybe make the feet a bit smaller however I have
less of a problem with the feet to be honest.
Please tell me what you think of this, some constructive criticism is always welcome in my opinion.
Also
if someone could recommend a good paint brand to use for this that
would be greatly appreciated as well, doesn't need to be premium or
anything ( since I would need a whole lot of it ) but something that's
relatively cheap and good quality would be greatly appreciated.
I live in the UK if that helps.
Also
if this becomes a success ( which probably it will ) my next model will
be... Renamon of course, and also lifesize ( which would be around 170
cm, since she is so incredibly tall )
I might even have them for sell eventually if people will be interested enough as well, but that's for later of course.
Either
way thank you for your time reading this huge wall of text, and I'll
definitely keep you posted here and on my Deviantart and Instagram
pages.
Till next time.
